How we work - what to expect

🧵 How We Work

From your first idea to final delivery — here’s what to expect when you partner with Yoka-Yo.

🔹 Step 1: Development Brief

You send us your design ideas — whether that’s a sketch, tech pack, or just a moodboard. We’ll help guide you through fabric options, trims, and the best way to bring your vision to life.

✅ What we need:• Sketch or tech pack (or visual reference)• Design details and inspiration• Target price point and quantity• Fabric preferences, if known

💡 Not sure where to start? We’ll help shape your idea into a production-ready concept.

🔹 Step 2: Sampling

We produce a single prototype sample per style, charged at a development rate. This is your chance to review fit, fabric, and construction before moving to bulk production.

Typical lead time: 2–4 weeks (depending on complexity)Includes: Fit, fabric, trims (where possible)

The cost of sampling is charged up front and none refundable, these costs are paid directly to our suppliers and go towards fabrics, setting up patterns, print screens, sourcing, courier costs, it requires a huge amount of effort to complete one sample and factories require payment for this.

💡 One good sample sets the tone for your whole collection — take time to get it right.

🔹 Step 3: Fit Feedback

You review the sample and provide fit notes using our simple Excel Fit Feedback Template. We support you with terminology and guidance to get it production-ready.

You’ll receive:• Your sample• Feedback template• Support from our development team

We recommend wearing your sample for at least a few days so you can check how it functions during a long period of time as you may notice some abnormalities or characteristics you wish to amend

💡 Fit is everything — test on your fit model and in motion where possible.

🔹 Step 4: Production

Once your sample is approved, we finalise the spec, confirm order details, and move into production.

We confirm:• Final quantities and sizing• Factory allocation• Payment terms and delivery timelines

At this point a none refundable production deposit is required, this we then pay to our suppliers, purchase all bulk fabrics, trims and start to allocate production processes. Once we enter this point were unable to cancel an order for any reason.

💡 Changes after approval can delay things — make sure you're 100% happy before sign-off.

🔹 Step 5: Pre-Shipment & AQL

We provide shipping samples for your review before dispatch and carry out an AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) inspection to ensure your goods meet industry standards.

Included:• Shipping samples• Quality control checks• Pre-shipment sign-off

A sample AQL report you can view here

🔹 Step 6: Delivery

We manage logistics and arrange shipment to your chosen warehouse or fulfilment partner. We co-ordinate with our 5 freight forwarders to obtain the best prices for AIR and SEA freight from India, China or Bangladesh into the UK. Or you can arrange yourself from our factories on EXW terms.

You’ll receive regular updates and tracking details throughout the process.
